Our Windshield Crack Repair Process
Step 1: Inspection and Assessment
Our windshield crack repair process restores your vehicle's glass safely and effectively through a controlled procedure. We begin with a thorough inspection and assessment of the damage. A qualified technician diagnoses the type, size, and location of the crack to confirm it is repairable and not positioned in the driver's direct line of sight, which could fail a vehicle inspection.
Step 2: Damage Preparation
Next, we prep the damaged area. The technician cleans the chip or crack to remove glass fragments, dirt, and moisture. If required, a tiny hole is drilled at the impact point to create a clean channel for the resin. A special tool is mounted over the crack, and a vacuum extracts all air from the break so the resin can fully penetrate the damage.
Step 3: Resin Injection and Curing
The technician injects a specialized, clear liquid resin into the crack under pressure. The resin fills every microscopic fissure, bonding the glass back together. Once filled, a curing strip is placed over the area, and a UV lamp cures and hardens the resin.
Step 4: Finishing
The cured resin has the same optical properties as glass, making the repair nearly invisible. Finally, excess resin is scraped away, and the surface is polished to a smooth, clear finish.
